He lived there two whole years at his own expense, and welcomed all who came to him, 31proclaiming the kingdom of God and teaching about the Lord Jesus Christ with all boldness and without hindrance. (ESV).
‘ I will not believe that thou hast tasted of the honey of the gospel if thou can eat it all to thyself.’ Charles Spurgeon
This is remarkable. This Christian message/movement had travelled from a backwater region of Israel to the capital city of the then-known world in a matter of just a few years. Acts 1:8 was coming to pass. I understand that somewhere between 25 and 27 years had elapsed since Paul’s conversion and this point, and it was somewhere between 27 and 30 years since Pentecost. The progress of the gospel throughout the world was astounding. The tiny mustard seed had grown into the largest of plants, with the ‘birds’ (Gentile nations) perching in its branches (Matt.13:31,32)
