28th September 2012 – I ask for my brothers and sisters in Christ and myself that we will take you and your Word with the utmost seriousness Lord, and that we will grow thereby in leaps and bounds. One year from now, God-willing, may I be so much more of a Christian than I am today.

27th September 2012 – Sovereign Lord, Heavenly King, we may not always agree with our political leaders, but we do want to pray for them consistently, as we should. Help them to govern wisely and justly with shepherd-like hearts and instincts. May there be more than a few who, like Manasseh, turn to you and change radically. Thank you that you can do miracles that will leave us open-mouthed.

26th September 2012 – Lord I pray for (you fill in the blank – the person you consider least likely to become a Christian) that they will turn from sin to Jesus.

24th September 2012 – Jesus, Great Physician, we pray today for all who are seriously ill. We thank you for the many prayers being offered for them, and for the miracles that will be performed. We ask that each one will come to know you.

21st September 2012 – Lord, when I face circumstances that seem just too big for me to handle, help me to remember that you are on the throne of the Universe. Giants in my eyes are less than dwarves in yours and you are not intimidated by anyone or anything. How I praise you that I am in you.

20th September 2012 – Teach me Lord to spread out all my troubles, and those of your church, before you in prayer. Remove the ‘cataracts’ that would keep me from seeing you as you really are, and from viewing you where you are, enthroned far above the greatest of difficulties and opposition. Give me faith to wait on you for your deliverance, and please will you be greatly glorified in all that happens, both now and in the future. I want to see your great Name held in high honour.

Seeing the devastation and damage wrought, strengthen me to share your view of sin and stand with you against it. Empower me to turn from it in true repentance, and trust alone in your Son, who is able to save me from its penalty and power, and, ultimately, its very presence. I love you Lord, and I thank you with all my heart.

Give me wisdom to know when I should withdraw or keep my distance, and may I never be duped by my own deceitful heart. Strengthen me to avoid unholy alliances.

Prayer for 29th June 2012 – Help us to remember, Sovereign Lord that, your Word stands above the Ahabs of this age. We rejoice that their knees will bow, and their tongues confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

29 May –  Lord, don’t allow me to forget that you always monitor my heart. Let me really grasp that you are not necessarily impressed by outwardly spectacular things that tend to win human admiration. May my ambition always be to have a heart that is perfect towards you.

I also pray for all who do not yet know you, that you will give them a new heart. I ask these things in Jesus’ Name.

28 May – Lord, please pour on your church the Spirit of prayer. Plant in our hearts such a hunger and thirst for you. May the place of prayer be so precious to us, and not strewn with the cobwebs of neglect.

25 May –  Dear Lord, how can I ever thank you enough that the innocent Jesus was treated as guilty in my place, so that I, the guilty, could be declared innocent. This is a miracle of sheer grace. (1 Kings 8: 32).

24 May – Lord, your Word says that you ‘confide’ in those who ‘fear’ you. Help me to be such a person: one who can hear your faintest whisper, and respond obediently.

23 May –  I have to be honest, Lord; I don’t like this hammering business. But help me to not resent it. I know I need knocking into shape: the wonderful ‘shape’ of Jesus.

18 May –  Heavenly Father, I thank you for all my brothers and sisters in Christ. I know that I cannot fully play my part without them. Help me to always show them appreciation and give encouragement. I recognise how much I need them. Thank you that this very truth helps to keep pride in check.
